Pressing the paper

A book-notes app for iPhone

Quiet Pastel

Included free

You read a sentence that stops you. Orange keeps it — as a card worth looking at, in a library worth returning to, and on the screen you already check twenty times a day.

No orange in Orange. Oranges are appealing. Read between the rinds. Keep the juicy bits. Freshly picked thoughts. Semi-glutide.

How it works

Read. Keep. Return.

01
Begin here

Build the shelf

Search by title or author, scan the ISBN, or begin with six picks from the Stash. Books you find yourself — and every note inside them — stay unlimited.

  • Search
  • ISBN scan
  • The Stash
02
Lift it

Catch the passage

Type, dictate, or freeze the page with Passage Lens and paint across only the words you want. Long passages stay one thought and continue naturally across cards.

  • Type
  • Dictate
  • Passage Lens
03
Dress it

Give it a World

Every note becomes a card. Pick a World, place the stickers, and the whole app follows — colour, type, texture and motion.

  • Worlds
  • Stickers
  • Live card
04
Return to it

Meet it again

The Daily Orange brings back five notes as a small edition made for today. Every selection tells you why it returned, then counts toward your reading streak.

  • Why it returned
  • Streak
05
Carry it

Let it travel

Keep it on your Home or Lock Screen, ask Siri to find it, or compose it for somewhere else as a story, post or animated reel.

Widgets & resurfacing

A notebook in a drawer is a notebook you forget.

So Orange doesn’t wait to be opened. Your lines sit on the home screen and the lock screen, changing through the day, in whichever World you picked. Tap one and you land on that exact card.

  • 01Every size. Small, medium, large and lock screen — all free.
  • 02Themed. Widgets wear the same World as the app.
  • 03Deep-linked. A tap opens the note, not the home feed.
What Plus opens
  1. 01

Talk to Siri about your notes

Speak while the thought is fresh, then call it back when it matters. Siri can add a note — even add the book first — open or search your library, resurface something you forgot, and with Plus read your notes and Daily Review aloud. Available on iOS 17.5+; Apple Intelligence matching requires iOS 18+.

  2. 02

    Keep the shelf in step

Coming with Plus: opt in to carry your books, notes and sticker placements between devices under one Orange account — while every device remains free to stay local.

  3. 03

Save it before the page turns

Point the camera at a printed passage and it lands as an editable note — no retyping, no forgotten photo in your camera roll.

  4. 04

    Go past the first six

Open the complete Creator Collection at once, then find every new curated shelf waiting on the day it lands.

  5. 05

    Make the thought worth sharing

Turn a note into a story, a post or an animated reel — composed by Orange instead of cropped from a screenshot.

  6. 06

A World for every reading mood

Change the whole atmosphere — cards, type, colour and motion — in one tap, with every new World included.

  7. 07

Finish the card in your voice

Every World's full sticker drawer opens, including animated pieces ready to make the note unmistakably yours.

  8. 08

Put the thought where you'll see it

Your widgets carry the note and the World you chose, so the words return before you even open Orange.

  9. 09

A louder vote on what comes next

Your posts on the feedback board carry a Plus badge, so the asks from the people paying for Orange are the ones we see first.

  10. 10

    Your archive stays yours

Bring your reading history in and take every note back out whenever you choose, protected by your passphrase.

  11. 11

The next World is already yours

Every new World, sticker pack and collection is waiting for you the moment it arrives.

Orange Plus

A great line shouldn’t end at the page.

Scan it now. Ask for it later. Share it beautifully. Plus opens the whole Orange — and every drop still to come.

All of Free — nothing taken away

  • Unlimited notes on your own books
  • Voice capture
  • Daily Review
  • Home and lock screen widgets
  • Earned badges
  • Your claimed books on any device you sign in on

Untouched, and not moving behind the wall.

Questions

Reasonable doubts.

Why is it called Orange when there's no orange in it?
Because oranges are a-peeeeling!
Do I need an account?
Yes — you sign in with Apple or Google when you first open the app. That keeps your library attached to you rather than to one phone. You can delete your account at any time.
Does it work offline?
Your library lives on your device, so reading and capturing notes work with no connection at all. Searching for a new book needs the network, because that’s a lookup against Google Books.
Do my notes leave my phone?
Your notes live on your device. The books you’ve claimed from the Creator Collection follow your account, so signing in on another device finds them again — but the notes themselves stay with you.
What happens to my notes if I stop paying?
You keep them. Everything you captured stays, and everything you took from the curated Stash stays. What hides is presentation — the Plus Worlds and their sticker packs go back to the free World until you resubscribe.
Is there a limit on how many notes I can keep?
No. Free accounts capture unlimited notes across unlimited books of their own. The only cap anywhere is on the curated Stash, our hand-picked collection, where free accounts can take six books.
Are widgets a paid feature?
No. Every widget is free, in every size. Plus changes what fills them — premium Worlds and smarter resurfacing — not whether you get them.
Android?
Not yet. Orange is an iPhone app first, and it is being built like one.
